This is a great oil on canvas from the French school which depicts a 17th century scene of a mother and child washing clothes along a lagoon shoreline. A thatched roof structure and turret frame the background of the painting. Fine detail and colors make this a desirable addition for an informal den or family room. The frame is attractive with a canvas liner but is not original to the painting.

This Rare French Sèvres Soft Paste Porcelain Plaque with Hand-painted Figural scene signed, Paret is surrounded by a Highly Ornate Bronze Frame and three Candle-holders. Both Plaques are signed with the Classic Double L Signature of Sèvres, late 19th Century.
