A wonderfully rendered portrait on ivory of a young woman, wearing a lace-trimmed dress, a red shawl, and jewelry that reflects her high station in life. Her upswept hairdo is accented with a pearl edged comb and flowers. Every detail has been superbly executed by the painter, an artist of obvious talent. The painting, with a sight size of 4" by 3", is in excellent condition, with no cracks, chips or inpainting. It is in a gilded period frame (which is not the yellow shown in the photo), measuring 6 1/4" by 5 1/4". |
