This is a wonderfully rendered watercolor on ivory portrait of a pretty young woman of wealth, painted and signed by Robert Stothard, a well-known English artist. She is posed wearing an ermine stole and a long gold chain. Her delicate features are framed with sausage curls. There are no cracks, chips, or bowing, and the only imperfections are some scattered spots of inpainting, but only in the background area. Sight size is 3 3/4" by 2 3/4", and the framed size is 9 1/2" by 6 1/2". |
