The painting itself is in excellent condition, with no chips, scratches, splits, or restoration. Housed in its original embossed metal locket, which is unusual in that it has a front metal cover. The hinge to this cover is broken and the cover is detached. Please note that the sitter's head is not flat, but is not easily photographed because of the curve of the covering glass.
