This Newman measures 22"h x 30"w, framed, 32 x 43. Irene Hodes Newman was active in many areas. Her subjects were often Gullah street scenes in the Low Country and Savannah. She was also an Audubon Jurist and has had work shown at Corocoran and the Brooklyn Museum. Her work covered the time from 1939 through 1962. She died in 1982.
