Magnificent Victorian Wilcox Quadruple Plate Tankard Pitcher! This absolutely STUNNING item has a beautiful Chased decoration to the central portion of the Tankard while relief decor is in bands both top and bottom of the body. The Spout has raised relief images of Men in Boats, Sea Birds, a Hunter and a Bear etc. The Silver Plate is in Outstanding Original Condition having come to us from the family of the Original Owner and having never been re-silvered. A little simicrome polish was used to see how good the silver finish was and nothing else.. The base is impressed "WILCOX SILVER PLATE CO. QUADRUPLE PLATE MERIDEN CT 387" also two letter that I can not make out.. The hinge for the top has the numbers 54 80 stamped into the hinge itself. The top is just a little out of round in a small area and there is one or two extremely small dings which are very hard to see. Other than these condition issues, this is one of the finest Original finished Quadruple Silver Plate items we have ever seen!
