This is an extraordinarily fine, English, silk knitted pin ball. One side has two sets of initials (I assume the giver and the receiver),
the date-1796-, two crowns and 4 triangular decorative sections. The colors are creamy gold on light brown. The other side has the following phrase,"LET NOT ABSENCE BANISH LOVE" and some small decorative shapes. The original hanging cord is still intact. It is pretty close to a perfect example of a pin ball - probably a love token. The phrase is won ...click for details

This 11 1/2" long candy container is a heavily embossed pine cone (with a hanger for tree use) from Germany. The detailing is very good. The lid has a very realistic frosted pine branch attached to it.Inside I found the rest of the "pine branch" with a real little pine cone attached to it. It is about 3 1/2" at the deepest point. In very good condition.

This 22" tall Golliwog is most impressive. He dates from the 1930's. My best guess is that he was made by the English company, Dean's Rag Book Co.Ltd.. He matches the pictures I have been able to find in every characteristic but one- his hands are made as 4 separate fingers, whereas the pictures show a mitten shaped hand stitched into fingers. The doll is made of wool felt. The trousers and jacket and back of one finger show signs of wear - some moth holes, some mends, some fading ...click for details

The premier maker of German chocolate molds. Anton Reiche, is the producer of this outstanding pair of moulds. They are the largest size bride and groom moulds Reiche produced in the early 1930's. They are 10 1/2" tall and 5 1/2" to 6" wide. The condition and definition are excellent. In the 1930's Lilliputian weddings were all the rage. Children were dressed in every detail to mimic an adult wedding party. They seem to have been sponsored by woman's clubs and churches ...click for details

This sewing item is a clever figural needle holder and threader in the form of an old key.On the shaft it says "Brevete SGDG" on the other side "Enfile Aiguille" (French for "Needle Case") and on the teeth of the key "Depose". Below the elaborate top of the key , there is a little barrel with a hole in it that,I believe, functions as a threader. The end of the key shaft comes off to reveal the needles. It is 2 1/2" long and made of white metal and bra ...click for details

This seated lamb cast iron cake mold is a traditional European Easter cake form. What makes it so unusual is its green enamel finish on the outside and white enamel on the inside. The overall condition is quite good. There is enamel wear on the outside and inside, appropriate to its age and use.
There has been some touch up on the white enamel edges on the inside. The mold measures 15 1/2" from handle to handle, and is 8 1/2" at its tallest point.
