Japanese Kobe toy dice cup made of an interestingly grained, dark wood in the form of a large man's head wearing a stovepipe hat and having a tiny body. The crown of the hat unscrews and it contains two tiny ivory dice. In addition,the staring eyes are movable, they pop in and out of the head , They too are of ivory. About 3 1/8" tall. Pre WWII.Condition excellent.
This decorative and adorable Black Forest carved bear is seated atop a pressed glass double salt cellar. The connecting screw and leather washer are original. The width is 3 1/4" and the height is about 3 1/4". The bear is 2 3/8" high. The piece dates from about the 19teens And the sterling salt spoon held in the paws is contemporary (not for sale). Condition is excellent.
