This is a British made celluloid & tin plate matchbox cover or grip, dating to the early part of the World War Two period, around 1941.

The front of the holder has a 'photograph' of Churchill, & is titled 'THE PRIME MINISTER - MR WINSTON CHURCHILL'.

The rear of the holder is titled 'Premier's message to President Roosevelt, February 9th, 1941' & has a transcript of the famous message, which ends 'GIVE US THE TOOLS AND WE WILL FINISH THE JOB'.

The spine of the holder is titled 'President Roosevelt's reply to the Premier, March 15th, 1941', & reads ''BRITAIN needs SHIPS, AEROPLANES, TANKS, GUNS, FOOD and supplies of all kinds - THEY SHALL GET THEM'. Both edges of the spine read 'BRITISH MADE'.

Condition is Fine, with a clean exterior & interior. The only point to note is that there are a couple of very light spots of foxing to the front edges - Please see magnified photos.

The holder measures approx 2 1/4" x 1 1/2" x 1" (approx 5.7cm x 4cm x 2.5cm).
