This is a large & original Art Deco period cast metal sculpture by M Leducq, signed in the cast, & dating to the 1930's.

This impressive & iconic sculpture, entitled 'Seagull in Flight', depicts the bird flying just above the crest of a breaking wave. The sculpture has been cast in two sections, with the seagull attached to the tip of the wave via a robust lug.

The waves have a patinated bronze finish, whilst the seagull has a cold painted finish (more of a wash as opposed to painted), and all mounted on a black marble base section.

Condition is Fine & original, with no damage or restoration. The only point to note is the expected rubbing & losses to the finish on the seagull - please see all photos.

Dimensions : The seagull has a wingspan of approx 34 1/4" (approx 87cm) & a maximum height (inc. the base) of approx 13 3/4" (approx 35cm).
