Pair of Silver mounted Crystal Knife Rests London 1909

This is a matching pair of Edwardian sterling silver mounted, cut crystal Knife Rests, fully hallmarked for London 1909.

The rests are of a barbell or dumbell design with a hexagonal central bar.

The 'stands' on each rest have 9 double star cut facets with a flat base.

The ends of the rests are mounted with hallmarked silver collars with a multi-faceted centre.

The 4 sets of hallmarks are crisp (with the exception of the makers mark, which is rubbed on each collar), & consist of the leopards head (London), the lion passant (925 sterling), the date letter ('o' for 1909 - 10), & the makers mark (B or R O ?).

The rests measure approx 12.5cm in length & stand approx 3.5cm high.

Condition is great for their near 100 years - there are a few tiny fleabites & a few tiny bruises on each collar (only really noticeable through a loupe).

All in all, a scarce pair of Edwardian knife rests in lovely condition.
