This is an 830 standard Silver Vase, Large Beaker, or Cup, most probably German in origin & marked with the old Dutch Import Tax Mark, & dating to around 1900. The vessel is rather plain in form, with a flared top with a concave, folded lip, & a decorative base with a square design within reeded borders. The base is marked with '830 S' (for 830 standard Silver), & the Dutch import tax mark, which was used for imported Silver, or for old Dutch Silver which came back into circulation & did not bear an earlier tax mark. Condition is good, there are a few 'pinhead' marks & very light bruises, the largest at the base of one side which, unusually, has been made from the inside - please see photos. The vessel stands approx 4 5/8" or 11.7 cm high, & has a diameter at the top of approx 3 7/8" or 9.8 cm. The weight is 154.1 g, 5.44 oz, or 4.95 Troy.
