WW2 Royal Army Service Corps Matchbox Holder

This is a British made celluloid & tin plate matchbox cover or grip, dating to the World War Two period, 1939 - 1945.

The front & rear of the cover have the RASC insignia with 'GR' in the centre (King George V), & the motto 'Honi Soit Qui Mal Y Pense' (evil to him who evil thinks).

The spine of the cover has 'ROYAL ARMY SERVICE CORPS', & 'BRITISH MADE'.

The RASC are a former Corps of the British Army, who in 1965 were merged with the Royal Transport Corps, & are now part of the Royal Logistic Corps.

Condition of the holder is good for age, there is the usual light foxing & a light crease to one edge - please see magnified photos.

The holder measures approx 5.5cm x 3.5cm x 2.2cm.
