Silver Pierced Work Pedestal Dish by Adie Bros 1914

This is a George V era solid Silver dish or bowl, by the renowned silversmiths Adie Bros, & fully hallmarked for Birmingham 1914.

The dish is circular in form & sits on a circular pedestal foot.

The dish has a scalloped bowl with a beautifully decorated, floral & acanthus pierced work border, with a castellated rim.

The dish is fully hallmarked to the side of the bowl with the makers mark 'A between bros & ltd' (Adie Bros), the Anchor (Birmingham), the Lion Passant (928 Sterling), & the date letter 'p' (1914 - 15). The base of the foot is embossed with the retailers name 'MACKAY & CHISHOLM - EDINBURGH'.

Condition is Fine, there are 2 or 3 tiny spots of tarnish to the bowl, & the hallmarks are rubbed, but readable.

The dish measures approx 4 1/8" in diameter (at the top), & stands approx 1 5/8" tall. (approx 10.5 cm x 4.3 cm).

The dish has been crafted from quite a heavy gauge Silver and weighs 67 g, 2.36 oz, or 2.15 Troy.

Overall, a fine Silver dish or bowl, of a high quality & stunning design, & in Fine condition for it's 94 years.
