This is a pair of totally original Late Georgian Ejector Candlesticks, made of heavy brass, & dating to around 1830 - 50. The sticks have a baluster stem & rectangular bases with cut, squared corners. The interior of the bases have been very well finished. The sticks have their original push up rods, complete with the end buttons & corks (one button has had a very old repair, with the 'face' having had more metal applied). Both push up's are seized. The sticks are very heavy for their size, with a total weight of just under 1.5 Kg (one stick is approx 776 g, & the other is approx 720 g). Condition is Original & Uncleaned. One of the long edges of the base on each stick has been dented (at the base), the sconces are uneven, & one stick leans slightly - nothing major & they are fine usable or decorative sticks as they are but, could be easily restored (in the right hands) to their former glory - please see magnified photos. The sticks are approx 9 1/4" (23.5cm) high (due to the uneven sconces, the height varies between 9 1/4" and 9 1/2", depending on where you take the measurement). Postage is high due to the weight, so collection (or delivery within reason) in the Edinburgh area is most welcome.
