Pair Victorian Brass Ejector candlesticks: England 1893

This is a pair of 11" Victorian brass ejector candlesticks, in a 'Beehive & Diamond' pattern, & dating to 1893.

The sticks have cut corner square bases, a ribbed design to both 'beehives', & gadrooning detail above and below the 'diamonds'. Both sticks have their original push rods & buttons but these are seized (I have not attempted to free them).

The front edge of each base is impressed with 'ENGLAND' over 'RD 223580', which dates the registered design to 1893.

Condition of the sticks is Very Good. Externally they are Fine, but one stick has a little movement at the base / stick joint (this is quite common on sticks of this age; the stick has had an old internal repair where a circle of metal has been loosely placed around the rod at the base / stick join. Although the stick is extremely secure, a small internal solder would prevent any movement).

Each stick is approx 11" high (approx 28cm), with a base measurement of approx 4" square (approx 10.1cm square).

The combined weight of the sticks is around 1170 g unpacked.

Overall, a Fine pair of large Victorian candlesticks.
