This is an Art Nouveau period Silver Plated Jug, made by WMF & fully marked with the 'bee-hive' & Ostrich mark, & dating to around 1910 - 15. The jug is baluster in form, with a flared spout, a squared handle, & stands on four cabriole legs. The jug is decorated with an embossed laurel wreath, acanthus caps to the handle, & acanthus mounts to the legs. The jug is fully marked to the edge of the handle with the half shaded 'bee-hive' & ostrich mark (introduced on June 1st 1910), 'OX' (oxidized), & I/O (Silver plate deposit). Condition is very good, with minor plate loss to the extremities & a very small & shallow bruise to the front. The jug was almost certainly made as a creamer, but it is highly decorative in it's own right. We have also listed the matching bowl. The jug stands approx 4 1/2" high (approx 11.4cm) at the highest point.
