This is an Art Nouveau period TUDRIC enamelled Pewter dish or bowl, almost certainly from a design by Archibald Knox & made by Solkets for Liberty & Co, & dating to the 1st decade of the 20th Century, around 1900 - 1910. The twin handled bowl has typical Nouveau style organic lines, with pierced work clover leaf sides, whiplash handles incorporating a heart motif, & cast, trailing clover leaves flowing around the handles. The base of the bowl has been enamelled in the electric blue & marine green enamels, which were typical of Liberty & Co during this period. The base is fully stamped with 'MADE IN ENGLAND', 'SOLKETS & their crossed floral trademark', 'TUDRIC', & '0287' (indicating an early design). Condition is Fine. The enamels are bright & free from damage, and the tray has no dents or breaks in the pierced work. The only points to note are that there is very minor rubbing to the clover leaves around the handles, & there are two, very light & small (1cm) scratches to the wall of the dish at one end (again, minor & easily addressed). The dish measures approx 11 1/8" long & 8 1/2" wide, at widest points (approx 28.3cm x 21.6cm). Please Note: The enamel is brighter than it appears in the photographs.
