This is a Swan China miniature crested ware vase, fully backstamped, & dating to between 1900 - 1904. The front of the vase is decorated with the seal of LEITH, with the motto SIGILLUM OPPIDI DE LEITH above, & the motto PERSEVERE below. The base has the printed SWAN CHINA ENGLAND Swan & intertwined CF mark, which was used by Charles Ford (Hanley) between 1900 & 1904. Condition is fine, with no damage other than light rubbing to the gilding around the rim. The vase measures approx 2 1/4" or 6cm high. |
