An extraordinary antique pair of Oaxacan earrings from Tehuantepec. These gusanos (worm-shaped) were crafted using 12k gold and natural pearls including seed pearls to adorn the central larger pearl enclosed with a gold crown. Antique Mexican earrings are hard to find as these pieces were not made for the tourist. These are authentic ethnic pieces. These earrings are for pierced ears. 2-1/4" long and 1/2" wide. This bracelet is more comfortable to wear than similar piece since it is constructed in oval rather than circular shape. These earrings are likely from the first half of the twentieth century. Quality of craftsmanship and gorgeous design.
