SALVADOR TERAN Brass Mosaic OPPOSED HANDS PITCHER
This fantastic pitcher from Maestro Orfebre Salvador Vaca Teran is a fine addition to any collection of Classic Taxco objects. This “Pitcher with Opposed Hands” is made with brass and different tones of green colored glass tiles. An identical piece but in blue tones was part of the exhibit "Maestros de la Plata" and it is featured in page 195 of the exhibit's catalogue: WILLIAM SPRATLING AND THE MEXICAN SILVER RENAISSANCE by Penny Morrill, 2002. The measures of this pitcher are 23.5 cm (9-1/4”) tall x 18 cm (5-1/2”) wide with handle included, a base diameter of 14 cm (7-1/16”), and a weight of 1191 gr (42 oz). Marked “Handwrought”, “Hecho en Mexico”, “Salvador” and “414”. Perfect condition, all tiles intact. COLLECTOR QUALITY.
