A fine scroll by Ogata Taiko ( 1812-1868) . He was an 8th generation Ogata family painter from Kyushu , Fukuoka area. Have been official employed by Kuroda Han ( Daimyo of Fukuoka). Several of his paintings are on permanent exhibition in Fukuoka Prefectural museum. Painting depicting a Noble preparing for Archery. Silk with mineral paint . Fine condition with no major damages ( patination and very minot staining ) Size: 150/35.5 cm , Painting only is 63 / 23 cm Age: Late Edo period

Rare Buddhist scroll depicting Ragaraja--Aizen Myou. Aizen Myou sits atop a lotus praying; many arms holding prayer wheels while in meditation posture; the flames surrounding him burning away the miriad defilements of ignorance. Dark chocolate and wine-red hues saturate this scroll. Very good condition (no paint restoration). Size: H.93cm, W.39cm.

Subtle, elegant and naturalistic, blue/gray/yellow scroll of upward-gazing halk gripping a mulchy outcropping. The halk seems to be attending to it's offspring (on upper branch). Canvas size: 128/46cm. Very good condition (original, minor abrasions).
