A wonderful example of pre classic Cham sculpture, this feminine garuda figure is carved in high relief in sandstone. the conical, linear treatment of the hair is one of the indicators of the period, as is the simpler aspect of the sculpture. A difficult subject to shoot indoors, I have included pictures taken in sunlight. Approximately 14x15.75x5 inches, 35.5x40x12.5 centimeters. |
