A wonderful Chinese Cloisonne Covered Jar late 1800's with colorful flower motif, in excelent condition. Perfect for a fine colection. 8 1/2 inches high and 5 inches at widest point.
Chinese cloisonne vases with lids 13 1/2" tall to top of lid handle & Width at widest point is 6 1/4". Background colors are light blue and brown. Subject Floral and bird motif colors green, pink, yellow, blue & black. Circa 19th century.
This early 19th Century Chinese pillow box is beyond belief, it is one of the best examples of cloisonne art you will ever see. The pillow box was traditonally used for a womans wedding night to hold her dowry. The light blue color of enamel found in the background of this cloisonne box was popularized by the first female emperess of China. A peacock and rose landscape adorn the top.
