This approx. 5" t. x 5.5" art enamel is hand-painted porcelain, applied to a copper base. With the oak frame, it measures 8.75" t. x 9-1/8". Colors are mainly Prussian blue, magenta, pink, purple, and black on a white background. Scene depicts minarets and mosque type towers, making me think of Russia, and there is a yellow hand-painted artist signature, which appears to be in Cyrillic (although perhaps Hebrew or Arabic). ...click for details

This design is a pair of Art Deco 3-7/8" salt and pepper shakers with decal decoration, shapes 633 and 634. These Wild West motifs are really fun. The color portions depict The Colt Peacemaker rifle and the River Boat Gamblers Favorite pistol. In the background, in brown, are a cowboy gunslinger, cliffs, and a wagon being ambushed by three men with drawn gun. This example of Valerie ("Vally") Wieselthier's design work for the Wiener Werkstatte (Viennese Workshop, Austria) is 4-3/8" t. x 9.5" across. Die-impressed with the WW logo, AUSTRIA, the shape number, and the artist initials VW. Red terra cotta clay with decorations in an almost iridescent tin-based glossy glaze.

This 3" American art pottery miniature figurine of an Art Deco elephant has a satiny white glaze and no mark. According to Pamela Duvall Curran, in SHAWNEE POTTERY: THE FULL ENCYCLOPEDIA (page 234), he is Shawnee's shape A593.

No nicks, chips, hairlines, or repairs, although there is some minor crazing.

This adorable Cowan Pottery 5" t. figure is fairly difficult for collectors to locate. Made in 1928, this example is glazed in the rutile glaze Antique Green, which has crystalline patches in shades of green and brown. This charming ca. 1930s or 1940s figurine of a kangaroo stands 2.75" tall. The glaze on this figure is glossy pale pink, and the clay is white. According to author Burdell Hall, it was made by one of the Morton (Illinois) Potteries. No mark. On the bottom is a very small sliver chip at one edge, which does not show when sitting upright. No other chips, hairlines, or repairs.

This beautiful iridescent 9.25" t. blown-molded art glass vase is made of opaque milk (opal) glass, cased in white, and has a stylus-engraved signature KRALIK and a ground pontil mark. The top rim is ruffled and there is an applied cobalt glass "snake" around the neck. I am told that this type of KRALIK glass was made in Germany between 1945 and 1949.

This pair of figural shakers was made in California by studio potter Sorcha Boru. The Queen has a section broken out of the base. The King is in great condition--no chips, hairlines, or repairs. Signed with incised artist signature. Very scarce!
