This luscious jewel is a 2.5" t. handmade vase by R. Guy Cowan, one of the earliest of his studio pottery vessels and dating to roughly 1909-1910, when he was still affiliated with East Technical High School in Cleveland, Ohio, and had not yet established his pottery, which in 1912 was established on the west side of Cleveland in the suburb of Lakewood--and called the Cleveland Pottery and Tile Company.

This Roseville Wisteria 639-10" vase sports the largest, darkest, deepest blue background of any example I have ever seen. And everybody who sees it agrees! Just splendid! The shape is also tall enough and cylindrical enough that the wisteria pattern "reads" extremely well.

Excellent example for the advanced collector. No ...click for details

Extremely rare and unusual item, which is illustrated in my book UND ...click for details

This unusual art enamel on copper measures 8.25" x 5.25" and is mounted on a piece of wood so that the overall measurements are 8-7/8" x 6". (There was at one time a hanger on the back, but not a sturdy one, as it is missing.)

This luscious mini is 2-7/8" t. and begs to be caressed and studied. It's a Rookwood vase, design 6319F, dated XXXII (for 1932). Glazed in an almost iridescent or lustrous celadon green, very Chinese in appearance--in the art deco manner--and reminiscent of the earlier glaze experiments at Rookwood called "nacreous."
