This beautifully hand decorated earthenware vase is an 8.75" bottle shape. Ivory colored background, with some widely spaced crazing lines, and a mostly brown floral decoration, with some gilt details. Not marked (except for a hand-painted 2), but believed to be from England. Very attractive. No nicks, chips, hairlines, or repairs. A little smudge of darker color at the lip on one side. Decoration goes all the way around.

This 4.5" t. Royal Winton (Staffordshire, England) pottery vase has an attractive decal decoration that depicts "Niagara Falls from Prospect Point," which is on the U.S. side in New York. Fully marked with several overlapping backstamps on the bottom. No nicks, chips, hairlines, or repairs.

This fascinating 5-5/8" china stein was made by the British firm Gray's (where Susie Cooper was an early designer), probably in the early 1950s. The rim and handle have copper lustre trim. One side features a hand-colored engraving, applied by transfer, of an elderly gentleman in an armchair, his butler, and a lovely woman in deshabille and also exposing (HORRORS) her ankle. Evidently her charms (including the low-cut dress that nearly reveals her breasts) have him in a dither! ...click for details
