This vintage 1970 adult comic book measures 9.75" x 6.75" and is full of illustrations by Gilbert Shelton, who was famously a friend of Janis Joplin. This issue of FEDS 'N' HEADS features the Fabulous Furry Freak Brothers, Wonder (The Hog of Steel) Wart-Hog, and other "underground heroes." As the cover says, this offering is "for enlightened adults only!" There are lots of nude, stoned hippies in these tragicomic tales, which include "The Hog of Steel, WONDER WART-HOG Meets the Elusive, Chimerical CHAMELEON!", "Willie & the 36 Flavors," "Oat Willie Takes a Long Look at Himself," "A Freak Brothers Nursery Rhyme," an illustration titled "Scenes from the Revolution 1: The Motorcycle Outlaws versus the Rednecks at the Highway Beer Joint," "Eatin' Worms," "Well, I ain't got nobody..." "Those Fabulous Furry Freak Brothers Acquire a Groupie," and "The Indian that came to Dinner," which has to do with peyote (instead of marijuana, the usual subject, along with sex, of most of these stories). A classic from the Flower Power era! Very good condition.
