This rare and unusual Roseville Pottery item is a hand-decorated bowl, using a shape from the Utility Ware line. There are four stylized houses, alternating with trees. The motif may have been an experimental idea for the Juvenile line. In style, it resembles some of the modernist Rookwood of the late 1940s, when this piece was probably created.

Lined in white, with colorful drawings against a tan glaze. This piece is level--despite my not having leveled the camera's tripod when taking photos. Sorry! The size is 7" across x 4.25" tall, and the shape number is 10-6".

From the personal collection of George Krause, who was Roseville's glaze chemist from about 1919 through 1954. Bears a sticker to that effect.

No nicks, chips, hairlines or repairs. There is some crazing, and there are other very minor glaze issues (factory), especially inside, but nothing that detracts from its appearance.
