James Modarelli Cleveland School Art Enamel Copper
This outstanding 5.75" porcelain enamel on copper was made in 1979 by James Modarelli (d. 2002), who graduated from the Cleveland School (now Institute) of Art in 1938 and for many years was a designer for NASA. The abstract application of color creates a unique and expressive landscape effect.

This piece is personalized with gilt lettering that reads "To ARDATH & JOHN SANDERS from the MODARELLI's 1979." Ardath, who died in 2006, was influential in preserving historic sites in Strongsville, Ohio.

Excellent condition, with no chips, nicks, hairlines, or repairs.
