Berit Studios Porcelain Enamel Copper LeVine Cartoon #1
This unusual 5.25" enamel was found in a Cleveland house sale, so was probably drawn by a Cleveland artist, where enameling was an important design focus at the Cleveland School (now Institute) of Art. This piece is titled "Misplaced Comma" and appears to satirize either a writer, editor, or attorney.

On the back are marks that read "Christmas 1949 / Berit Studios / Arthur & Sidney LeVine."

If you run your fingers around the edge, you might find some very small losses--but nothing obtrusive. There is also some veining in the enamel, although it does not appear to be stress cracks. No chips or cracks.
