This one-of-a-kind plique-a-jour pendant has an antique carved ivory crown button in a modern vermeil frame. Like stained glass, the plique-a-jour shows its brilliant colors when lit from behind. The frame is concave measuring almost 3/4" deep and 2 1/4" in diameter. Design by Marlene Harris.

An antique button is the basis for this original one-of-a-kind designer pendant. The late 18th to early 19th century button captures a romantic couple seated on a bench. The porcelain enamel is finely painted in the French rococo manner. Solid brass hand sawn pierced open work swirls and flourishes serve to frame the button.
