Pair Of Italian Bronze Figures Of Silenus Mounted As Lamps With Tole Shades. Patinated Bronze statue of Silenus with a serpent, after the original discovered in Pompeii in 1863. In Greek mythology, Silenus was a companion and tutor to the wine god Dionysus. It Is Truly Unique To Have An Assembled Pair Of Lamps With Matching Early Tole Shades. The Bronze Figures Of Bacchus, God Of Wine, Holds The Shades. A Powerful Statement For Home Or A Vineyard. Lamps Are Nearly Identical And Are By Different Artists - One Marked: "M.Amodio SC" the other "Masuth Bellezza." Circa 1870. Size: 33" H.
