Offered here is a beautiful carved wood figure of a saint in flowing robe, looking heavenward with an expression of awe on the face. The robe is entirely gilded and, remarkably, most remains. The face, hands, feet and base are painted, though have darkened over time. The back is mostly unfinished. The figure is in very good condition, although the toes of the left foot are missing. The height is approximately 13.5".

This is a stunning brooch of three large turquoise stones and eight pearls set in a conforming vermeil setting of very fine work. The stones have the lovely matrix and the pearls set them off beautifully without overpowering the turquoise. The effect is heart stopping without being gaudy. The pin is large, measuring a full three inches. The back is filigree. This is a modern Chinese piece made in the old style.

Here we have a wonderful, folky, small weathervane that probably dates to about 1930 or so. It has great chippy paint, which is early but not original, since there is evidence of other layers beneath it. It measures 13" high and is 14" at it's widest point.

These wonderful little French cachepots have among their many attributes the fabulous colors of yellow and puce. Each little pot has a different scene painted in this wonderful color on the front and the back, and each pot has slightly different scenes than the other. We have little fat cherubs on one side and a serene little landscape on the other. Offered here is a gloriously faded silver gilt pedestal or plant stand. The color and form is what caught my attention. Silver gilt on old wood seems to fade to sort of an ice blue which is just beautiful to me, and looks so wonderful with the pale interiors you see in a lot of homes today. The pedestal is sturdy and it won't tip your sculpture off. It measures 36" high, is 8" square at the top and 9" square at the bottom.

Offered here is a pair of splendid enamel and sterling earrings for pierced ears. The color of the enamel is deep pink with the thinnest rim of yellow on the edge. The yellow sort of bleeds into the pink, so the whole effect is sort of like a Key West sunset. The enamel is on sterling silver, which is not marked, nor is there a maker's mark, but they have been tested and they have been to my jeweler when I had them made from screw ons to pierced. Here we have a lovely little sculpture of a Great Horned Owl perched on a branch. It is a fine casting with superb detail and lovely patina. It is signed, and I have photographed the signature for you, but I have been unable to decipher it so far. I think it was probably cast late 19th century to early 20th century. It is perfect, and is approximately 3" tall.

Here is a nude male torso cast in aluminum, probably done mid 20th century, maybe as late as 1970. It is one sided, the opposite side being hollow. It is flat on the bottom so it stands on it's own. The signature is really difficult to make out but, by process of elimination, I came up with Chemin. Joseph Victor Chemin was a 19th century sculptor, whose signature looks like the one on this torso, but I am only familiar with his animal sculptures, for which he is most famous. A little footstool like this has a million other uses besides just looking scrumptious wherever you put it. Personally, I can think of nothing more important than that, however you might find it a good place to leave your book beside your chair; you can put your drink there (use a coaster please); all cats like footstools like this, and small dogs might; put your foot up on it to tie your shoe...you see, the list is endless. Offered here is a perfectly charming bench of faux bamboo with hand worked needlepoint upholstery. The wood is a warm, mellow color and the needlepoint is worked in deep red, greens and blues predominately, depicting a serene English landscape with a bridge and waterfall. The dimensions of the bench are 17" by 12.5" by 12" high approximately. 20th century.
