Offered here is one or a pair of fine English sterling master salt spoons. The maker is Walter Brind, a prolific maker of good holloware. The mark dates them to 1794-95. They each have a coat of arms engraved on the front. 4 1/8" in length, excellent condition. Priced individually. (One is now sold.)

This is an interesting bust that came my way just the other day. It is dated 1903. There is quite a bit inscribed on the shoulder area, some of it written in French, but I have been unable to make out most of it so I suggest you have a go at it and, if you figure it out, let me know. The dimensions are 22" across at the shoulders and a little over 15" to the top of the head. It's really quite nice...wish I knew more.

Offered here are 4 sterling silver small bowls by London makers John Aldwinkle and Thomas Slater, hallmarked for 1891-92. The bowls are very ornate and have a lobed form with repousse decoration all around the circumference in 3 different motifs. The bowl is raised on 4 feet that are applied to the sides of the bowl. The bowls are heavy for their size. They are 3.5" in diameter and stand 1.5" high. Some don't sit completely level on a surface.

Offered here is a white metal sculpture of a dog, probably a Staffordshire Bull Terrier (a Pit Bull), cast after the original by the French sculptor, Joseph Victor Chemin (1825-1901). The dog is obviously going after a flea, and this sculpture is a wonderful study of the dogs form and musculature. This item is as I bought it. I don't know what it may have been part of, although it does not have a rough bottom that would have indicated that it was cut off of something. It is pressed brass and has lovely green oxidation and traces of old gilding. The figure represented may be a deity, since he wears a rather important looking headdress. The bust is 3" not including the stand. Measured on the stand it bust is 4.75" high.

Well, this is nothing if not interesting. I've never seen so many naked bodies on one candelabra in my life! Offered here is a fine red tortoiseshell and boulle desk set consisting of an ink stand with two cut glass boulle topped inkwells and a stamp box, a stationery box lined in green leather and a large blotter also lined in green leather.
