Oh dear. This is the cutest thing I have found recently. It is a metal cold painted gnome on a metal vine mounted to a seashell. The Victorians loved nature and incorporated natural items and natural forms into their decorative arts whenever they could. This little piece is rather small having an overall height of only 3". There is paint loss, but the gnome and his hammer and vine are in good shape otherwise. The shell is in very good condition and none of the spines are broken. Circ ...click for details
Offered here is an exquisite pair of Empire style mythical dolphin form candlesticks made of alabaster on marble bases. The candle cups are flower form. They measure 9" high on the bases. The bases are 7" by 4.5". They are in very fine condition with only a tiny chip near the base in the back of one candlestick. The bases and the candlesticks are made for short, fat little dowels, but they are not present. They are lovely and so elegant.
