Offered here is a lovely and subtle triptych composed of 3 watercolors of aquatic plants. The paintings are all on a pale gold ground and show the various systems of each plant. Calligraphy fills the upper right corner of each painting. They are framed in a single gilt wood frame with a silk mat. Each painting has a liner that matches the outer frame. Offered here is a fine, large platter dating to approximately 1780. It has a crest and a banner with the words "Per ardua ad astra". There was a professional repair to the platter which may be visible in one of the pictures, but it is hard to see. The platter measures 16.5" by 14". It has a fine orange peel surface, only minimal wear to the crest. Handsome and rare.
