SOLD

Offered here is a very fine fish set, electroplated silver, dating to the early 20th century. I have not been able to find the maker, the mark reads W.H. & Co.. I have seen some reference to a Birmingham maker with that mark, but I haven't been able to prove it. The set is engraved on the blade of the knife, the front of the fork, and the handles are embossed. Each piece is in very fine condition, with only the slightest wear to some spots on some handles. 12 pieces in all, 6 forks ...click for details

I love old terra cotta. I think the coloration of this piece is just wonderful. It is many different shades of buff, peach and gray with remnants of old white remaining on the front and sides...subtle and just beautiful. This piece (and I don't know the technical name for it) was part of a mantle, at the top of the part that flanks the fireplace. It is 10" high, 5" wide and 4" deep. It dates to around 1900.

Here we have a very elegant tray table of hand carved wood, water gilded and fitted with beveled glass. The tray dates to around 1860 and is Venetian. The stand was made to fit the tray. The tray table was purchased in 1995 from Joseph Konrad Inc in Atlanta. It is spectacular! The dimensions are 32" across, 21" deep, and 24" high. Excellent condition.

SOLD

You know how we are about dogs, and we fell in love with this small, antique bull dog pin with rhinestone eyes and a mug only a mother could love! The metal appears to be brass or perhaps copper, that was gilded. Most of the gilding is gone now, but traces of it remain in the creases of his face and ears. It is very detailed. The rhinestones are prong set. The pin back is original and in fine working order. See all the enlargements for an idea of the size (about the size of a dime). Circa ...click for details

SOLD

Offered here is a French sterling patch box or pill box. It is simple in design and is only decorated with a coat of arms on the lid. The coat of arms has a lion and fler d'lis, and is inscribed "anima et fide". The box has a mark on the bottom and the lid, and it may be the French Mercury mark, which means it was made for export, but it is very difficult to make out. It also has the initials J.C., the maker's mark, stamped on the bottom. The box is in excellent condition ...click for details

SOLD

This is a rare piece even for a Floridian. This fanciful stand is made entirely of palm fronds and dates between 1900-1930. African Americans made these and sold them out of the backs of their trucks as they traveled the countryside, seasides and resort towns of Florida, much the way the Highwaymen did later. This is our own native furniture, and Old Florida folk art rolled into one. The palm frond furniture was made up into the 50's for motels and beachside homes, and have been reproduc ...click for details

SOLD

Offered here is a large terra cotta sculpture of an angel with a gilt finish. The angel is on bended knee with a lily in her left hand and her right hand raised in supplication. Her wings are large and flow all the way to the back of the base. The style of the modeling has an art nouveau look to it. The gilding was applied over a red bole which has mellowed and softened over time, and the gilding is worn in places of contact, all to a very pleasing effect. There is a small chip to the clay o ...click for details

I bought this bracelet several years ago, priced it, and never put it in the shop. I kept it and wore it with the price sticker on the back. I so rarely keep anything I buy for my shop, but this bracelet is special. It is comprised of 6 panels of 3 each dimensional figures, I presume deities, in enamel colors of blue, yellow and aubergine. One figure has a scythe (I think) in his hand, and that might tell you who these guys are. My favorite part of the bracelet is the clouds in that wonderf ...click for details
