SOLD

Here we have a fine looking vase in the certainly Arts and Crafts style, and it looks to be of the period. It has this luscious thick green matte crackle glaze that sort of bubbles over dark brown at the bottom. The interior is a buff colored glaze. The vase is hand thrown and the form is very simple, only slightly flared at the top. It is signed on the bottom with the incised initials LTL. The vase is 5.5" tall. I believe it dates to around 1920. I'm going to say it is English p ...click for details

SOLD

Offered here is a small oil on masonite of a procession of figures in robes and turbans near two large rock formations. The figures are faceless and you cannot tell whether they are male or female figures, except for the fact that the two figures on the far right seem to be a good bit taller than the others, which leads me to think they may be men. I don't know whether it is a somber procession or simply a moment frozen in time, but that is part of what I like about the painting...the myst ...click for details

SOLD

A wonderful pair of tole wall shelves that have that great Dorothy Draper look right out of old Hollywood. The color of the stripes is actually bronze and not nearly black, as it appears in the photos. (Actually, the black looks pretty good, and I can paint them for you if you prefer that.) The dimensions are 10" long, 10" across the top and 4" deep at the top. These are around 1950 or so.

SOLD

Offered here is a vintage sterling silver cuff bracelet by Danecraft in an interesting allover honeycomb pattern that looks rather like snakeskin or lizard. I have left it unpolished because it has a nice effect with the patina settled in the low places and the high spots bright from handling. It would polish nicely if you prefer that look. The bracelet is 1" wide and 2.25" across on the inside. It is flexible enough to make it fit the way you like it best. Marked Danecraft and st ...click for details

Offered here is a beautiful Louis style French porcelain box with ormolu trim for trinkets or stamps or...nothing at all. The colors are bright and the design of roses and other small flowers, and the c-scrolls are hand painted. The bottom is marked with a mark similar to an old Sevres mark and "made in France". The little box is in fine condition and measures 2.5" by 2.5" and it is 1.5" high. Early-ish 20th century.

Offered here are three sterling silver napkin rings, each with a number instead of a monogram. They bear the mark for Birmingham 1913-14. There is a maker's mark but it is not one I have been able to identify. These are priced individually. (Two of these have now sold. The number 7 napkin ring is still available.)

SOLD

Offered here is a fine old decanter box, of Chestnut I believe. It is English and dates to the early part of the 19th century. The wood has beautiful grain and patina. It has an age split across the top and I believe the handles on either side are original. On the inside, the lock is not present nor is the divider, so it is just open inside. What a beautiful piece, though. It has been well used and enjoyed. The box measures 15.5" across, 11" deep and it is 10.5" high.

SOLD

The caster is 9" high and marked 800 Germany. It is circa 1900. It is repousse-ed to death, and really has some very fine work on it. There are flowers and ribbons and wreaths, acanthus leaves, and a small putto on the top blowing a horn. An utterly amazing piece. I see no flaws or repairs. One of these has been sold.

SOLD

Offered here is a wonderful oil on board by the well listed American artist, Joseph Margulies (1896-1984). The painting depicts a European scene of a small market and people buying and selling vegetables. There is a woman on the stairs with her purse on her hip and a bower of flowers in her other hand, and a man looking out the upstairs window, both looking out as though at a camera. The painting is bright and vibrant, with skillfully layered colors that reveal the complexities of the objects ...click for details
