Cover illustrated by Aristide Maillol. The spine is creased, the paper cover is torn on two corners, a small name sticker inside front cover, the pages are loose but not detached.

Tartanware set of books, Scott's Poetical Works, Select Edition, Edinbergh: Adam and Charles Black, 1874. 6 Volumes in all, leather spines embossed in gold. Each book has a different tartan cover: Caledonia, M'Lean, Stuart, M'Beth,Prince Charlie, M'Pherson. The box is covered in the M'Beth tartan and has a classical figure with a seated dog on the top.
