This is a wonderful needlepoint down filled throw pillow with an image of a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel curled up on a cushion. There is a border of roses and rose buds and tassel fringe all around the edges. The dog and the flowers are worked in petit point. The background is burgundy, with colors of celadon, green various reds and grays, and some brown and tan. The tassels are a mixture of threads, but the predominate color is celadon. The back of the pillow is velvet in a camel color. ...click for details
Here we have a wonderful 19th century needlepoint mat. Hand worked in a lively and colorful paisley motif on a green ground, it is attached to a linen backing and trimmed with ribbon. The backing is somewhat soiled and frayed, but not objectionably so. The needlepoint is in fine condition but would benefit from
reblocking. It measures approximately 18" by 12".
Offered here is a charming, small 19th century needlepoint picture of a young boy with his sheep. The picture is enclosed in the original silver gilt frame, original old wavy glass, and closed up with small square nails. The picture measures 11" by 10.5" in the frame. The needlepoint is in excellent condition. The frame shows some wear in places (which I find all the more beautiful)and the glass has some lovely flaws that are merely typical of old glass. A precious, early piece.
I found this vintage needlepoint and had it made into a down filled pillow. The pillow is needlepoint, with the floral design in petipoint. The colors are rich and deep...chocolate, rose, blue, pale gold, green. The fringe that surrounds the pillow is multicolored silk and picks up the colors in the needlepoint very nicely. The back is finished in a loden green. The size is approximately 15" square. The pillow is clean and in excellent condition.
