Offered here is a wonderful oil on board by the well listed American artist, Joseph Margulies (1896-1984). The painting depicts a European scene of a small market and people buying and selling vegetables. There is a woman on the stairs with her purse on her hip and a bower of flowers in her other hand, and a man looking out the upstairs window, both looking out as though at a camera. Offered here is a very fine little oil painting on board, depicting a farmhouse in the French countryside with a horse tethered outside the barn. It is well painted, rather in the manner of Colin Campbell Cooper, in fact there is a notation to that effect in pencil on the back of the board. Offered here is a good, early portrait on tin of a gentleman in fine clothes. I believe it is American, circa 1840. It is framed in a thin wood frame that fits well, but is probably somewhat later. The painting measures approximately 8" by 10". It is in good condition considering it's age. There is paint loss mostly on the edges and a sprinkling of small paint losses in the area of the clothing. Someone wrote "To Bill" on the back with magic marker. Offered here is a fine cast bronze figure of an angel on a wooden base. It is a beautiful casting with delicate detailing and graceful form. The wings are attached from the inside...somehow. The statue stands over 13" on the base. It is very heavy. The only flaw I see in the statue is that the angel appears to have once had something under her right foot. Whatever it was is no longer there. I would say this dates to the early 20th century. It is not marked.

Offered here is a small 18th century natural history engraving on wove paper. The engraving dates to the 1st half of the 18th century. It is framed in a modern frame with French matting. The overall dimensions are 8.5" by 9". The image is 3.5" by 4". It is framed to conservation standards.

Here we have a well painted landscape of a small river in a forest. There is a row boat pulled up on the bank, and you can see the forest reflected in the water in the bottom of the boat. There is very nice use of shadow and light in this painting. It is signed in the lower left. The last name is LAWSON, and the first initial of the first name is E.
