This is a pencil sketchbook with the title of "Orthodox Jewish Faces & Figures I met in the Streets of New York", Helmuth Nathan, New York 1964. Offered here is a small 18th century ink drawing of a figure in a robe holding a staff. It is framed in a contemporary burl wood frame with a French mat and a gilt inner edge. The back paper is marbleized and looks like an old end paper. The drawing measures 5.75" by 7". The image is 1.75" by 2.75".
