First let me say this is a very difficult piece to photograph. I hope that my pictures are satisfactory. Having said that, this is a delightful pastel, very much in the manner of Mary Cassatt, depicting a woman ironing. Mundane as that sounds, the drawing is beautiful, serene and very well done. I is rendered on gray paper, in a gray mat and gilt frame. It is signed Birnie 1920, and I have no further information than that on the artist. It measures 14.5" by 16.5" in the frame.
