SOLD

Offered here is a beautiful carved wood figure of a saint in flowing robe, looking heavenward with an expression of awe on the face. The robe is entirely gilded and, remarkably, most remains. The face, hands, feet and base are painted, though have darkened over time. The back is mostly unfinished. The figure is in very good condition, although the toes of the left foot are missing. The height is approximately 13.5".

SOLD

Offered here is a fine cast bronze figure of an angel on a wooden base. It is a beautiful casting with delicate detailing and graceful form. The wings are attached from the inside...somehow. The statue stands over 13" on the base. It is very heavy. The only flaw I see in the statue is that the angel appears to have once had something under her right foot. Whatever it was is no longer there. I would say this dates to the early 20th century. It is not marked.

Offered here is a wonderful terra cotta sculpture of the character, Pulcinella, from the 16th century Commedia dell Arte, in the coppolone (the sugarloaf hat). Various masks and costumes were part of Pulcinella's character but this one is the most famous. The bust is mounted on a wooden stand and is approximately 7: in overall height.

SOLD

Offered here is a beautiful terra cotta sculpture of a Madonna head, early, possibly 18th century. Much of the paint remains, as do the original glass eyes. You can see in the pictures where there has been some deterioration that was later stabilized, and it all feels pretty solid now. She is really very lovely. Her head tilts slightly to the left in a graceful pose, and she has not quite a smile on her face. Her eyes look at something we don't see. This is a calm piece. It has a calm ...click for details

SOLD

Offered here is a wonderful, I would say early, artists model of a hand. The fingers, thumb and wrist move as one's own hand would, and can be posed in a variety of graceful (or rude) gestures. The hand is mounted to a life size forearm and is attached to a black wooden base. It is a woman's hand. It is really quite beautiful. The color of the wood has mellowed over time, and there are a few scuff marks that have taken on a darker tone. It is nearly 19" with the fingers fully ...click for details

This is a splendid bronze wax seal by French sculptor, Marcel Bonnot, 1920. It is a full figure of a scowling cat draped over the top of the seal. Rich, deep patina, finest detail. 3 1/2" high, impressed mark on the side (see pictures), no other marks. Outstanding in every respect.

This is an interesting piece to me as the dog is depicted with his mouth open, panting. I have not seen one like that before. Also, I cannot quite figure out what kind of metal it is. It has a smoothness to it and kind of a soft feel that makes me think of lead, but I don't think it is heavy enough to be lead. Perhaps it is pewter. Nevertheless, it is a delightful piece, in black to gun metal gray with a red rope and tassel around the dog's neck. His eyes make him have a slightly m ...click for details

SOLD

This is a very handsome sculpture of a woman's torso, of metal with a bronze or bronze colored finish. This was done in the middle of the 20th century, and the finish has sustained about 3 very small nicks since that time. They are not troublesome overall, and could be touched up if someone felt it important to do so. She is a very handsome figure, and stands nearly 15" tall on a teak base. Fine condition except as noted.
