Big, beautiful longhorn steer mount. I hung it before I measured the span of the horns, which wasn't very smart, but I believe they span about 4.5 feet. The mount comes out from the wall about 30". As you can see, it looks wonderful on the wall in my shop, and I can think of dozens of other places it would look great too. You know you want this for Father's Day.
Here we have a wonderful box, hand painted in 18th century style with a Venetian scene with figures in masks, boats etc. The sides are hand painted in floral motifs. The box was made in the 20th century, probably 1940-50. It has wonderful wear. The box measures 6" by 4" by 1.75".
Offered here is a fine, small box, probably originally for cards. It has a small brass cartouche on the top that could hold a monogram if so desired. The interior is lined, the top in green velvet, the bottom in a silk type paisley print with is a later addition. The box is in excellent condition, opens and closes properly and the hinge works like it's supposed to. The box measures 4.5" by 3.25 by 1"+. Circa 1890.
Offered here is a gloriously faded silver gilt pedestal or plant stand. The color and form is what caught my attention. Silver gilt on old wood seems to fade to sort of an ice blue which is just beautiful to me, and looks so wonderful with the pale interiors you see in a lot of homes today. The pedestal is sturdy and it won't tip your sculpture off. It measures 36" high, is 8" square at the top and 9" square at the bottom.
This is a lovely yew wood box with satinwood inlay, reptile embossed leather interior, and a small painting set into the top by listed, contemporary French artist, Anne Boille. The technique she uses is called "fixing under glass", which originates from paintings carried out on paper or fabric and covered by glass before drying. But the technique itself of painting on glass was created during Renaissance in Murano, where glassworkers painted reproductions of ex-votos or biblical subj ...click for details
Here we have a very interesting pouch, perhaps a purse, made of alligator embossed leather and an embossed brass top and two compartments. The main compartment, the interior, is lined in kid leather that was dyed a pale aqua. There is a shallow compartment in the top with a snap closure. The lid is embossed with a dramatic little scene (how I love these little dramas!) of a man who has stepped out of his log cabin with a shotgun taking aim at whoever is making off on horseback with his woman! ...click for details
Offered here is a very pretty pillbox made of brass with the appearance of being pierced but it is overlaid on I-don't-know-what. It is in perfect condition, 1.5" in diameter, 5/8" tall and the lid fits nice and tight so your pills don't fall out. Mid 20th century.
Offered here is a wonderful early 20th century leather box with sterling silver trim. The leather is very high quality leather with a warm, rich patina and smooth as a baby's bottom to the touch. The top has a rounded sterling silver oval disk that could be monogrammed. The box has a lovely, simple form that would work well for a man, or for anyone who prefers a tailored look. The box is 7.5" by 5.25" and is 2.5" high approximately. The top is slightly rounded, so it' ...click for details
A wonderful pair of tole wall shelves that have that great Dorothy Draper look right out of old Hollywood. The color of the stripes is actually bronze and not nearly black, as it appears in the photos. (Actually, the black looks pretty good, and I can paint them for you if you prefer that.) The dimensions are 10" long, 10" across the top and 4" deep at the top. These are around 1950 or so.
Offered here is a beautiful Louis style French porcelain box with ormolu trim for trinkets or stamps or...nothing at all. The colors are bright and the design of roses and other small flowers, and the c-scrolls are hand painted. The bottom is marked with a mark similar to an old Sevres mark and "made in France". The little box is in fine condition and measures 2.5" by 2.5" and it is 1.5" high. Early-ish 20th century.
