Offered here is a stunning pair of early sconces, that have been wired for electricity, however the previous owner used them with candles. They are somewhat delicate, but should last hanging on the wall another hundred years or so. The gilding has been over painted, and the eagles may have been gilt wood and over painted in black. They measure 24" in height and are 12" across. The previous owner was a friend of the legendary designer, Sister Parish, and purchased the sconces from h ...click for details

Here we have a gorgeous lamp of carved stone, often referred to as jade (it isn't). It is carved in a bird and flower and vine motif, urn shaped with handles on the side (however the handle on the left is missing). The metal filigree band has a beaded edge that conforms to the shape of the carving. The top and the band lift off to access a small bulb socket in the interior, so the lamp is lit from the inside as well as from the bulb at the top. It is built up on a tiered stand, the botto ...click for details
