Offered here is a fine, old ivory statue of a Japanese farmer standing nearly 8" tall. Very nice work, mellow color (more than the camera will show), some age cracks. The man is carrying a woven basket at his hip, and a peach in his left hand. Whatever he may have held in his right hand is mostly missing. There is no other damage. Meiji period, maybe earlier. Signed on the bottom of the base.

Offered here is a circa 1900 enamel on metal stamp box marked CHINA. The box is decorated in raised motifs of flowers and vines and little animals. The colors are mostly that luscious turquoise or aqua blue, but also a dark blue and aubergine. The interior is completely that lovely, watery blue. The box is raised on four bracket feet, the interior is divided into two sections. It is in excellent condition. The measurements are 3" by 1.75" and the box is 1.75" high.

Offered here is one of two exquisite identical imari plates, circa 1900, Japan. The enameling is in iron red, green and gilt with cobalt and gilt in the center in a foo lion motif. The plate is divided into eight panels in four different motifs of animals, specifically a dragon, bird and two different dogs. The plates are approximately 8" in diameter and are in very fine condition. Offered here is a big and beautiful Chinese blue and white bowl with a fish motif on the inside and panels with figures on the outside. The bowl measures a whopping 17" in diameter and is 6.5" deep. It is marked with, I believe, a Ming mark, but was made in the 20th century. This is a stunning centerpiece.

This little jar has such nice size and form and the colors are rich and saturated. It dates to the 19th century and is 5" tall and about 4.25" in diameter at the base. It is in very fine condition.

Offered here is a fine hand carved ivory card case with incredibly fine detail. Scenes on both sides depict figures in landscapes with temples in high relief, so deeply carved in fact that the motifs are almost full figured. The case is 4.5" by 3". There is a monogram on one side. One corner of the lid on the interior is braced. Excellent condition otherwise. Circa 1880.

Offered here is a splendid matched pair of 18" Chinese export Rose Medallion vases. Each is decorated with alternating panels of figures, and panels of butterflies, birds and flower motifs, with two side gilt foo dogs on the neck and the two gilt chilongs around the shoulder. Offered here is a finely detailed 19th century rose medallion plate. The plate contains flowers, fruits, butterflies and birds as well as figures. The figures in the panels are on a white ground, the the rest of the interior of the plate is on a gilt enameled ground. Very fine work. The plate is 6.5" in diameter.

SOLD 

Offered here is a late Meiji to early Showa period figural container of bronze or bronzed metal in the form of a monkey and her young. It is very well cast with nice detail on both figures and on the bottom. The head is hinged in the back and lifts up to reveal a hollow interior. I have no idea what this would have been used for. It is in very good condition...the only flaw being the hinge. It wore through at some point and is now held together with wire. The box is signed on the bottom. ...click for details
