The wonderful colors and shapes in this painting are what immediately attracted me to it. These are (I believe) Ecuadoran women at market wrapped in their colorful blankets. The anonymous women appear to have fruits and vegetables spread out before them, a clay pot, and you can see the skirts of other women in the background but, clearly, the beautiful blankets are the subject of this painting. It is signed in the lower left in bold script but I cannot make out the signature. It is framed in ...click for details
This is an excellent oil on board, English, late 19th-early 20th century. The frame is new. It is signed TL in the lower left hand corner, but I have not been able to attribute the painting to any particular artist. Excellent condition. As framed it is 12" by 14". Site dimensions are 7" by 9 1/2".
Offered here is a small oil on masonite of a procession of figures in robes and turbans near two large rock formations. The figures are faceless and you cannot tell whether they are male or female figures, except for the fact that the two figures on the far right seem to be a good bit taller than the others, which leads me to think they may be men. I don't know whether it is a somber procession or simply a moment frozen in time, but that is part of what I like about the painting...the myst ...click for details
When I bought this painting I first thought, Oh good, I can clean this right up with my new cleaning stuff! But I looked at it for a little while and decided I quite like it just as it is. It's really a wonderful little painting with very good composition and perspective and, as it is, it has a very atmospheric quality to it. I like the way the light shines through the windows of the structure, and the moonshine on the water backlights the boats into mere silhouettes. It is unsigned as f ...click for details
Offered here is a very fine impressionist painting depicting a woman at a water pump on the grounds of a monastery in France. There are chickens in the yard. The subject of the painting is the charming architectural details of the building. It is very well painted and in the manner of Colin Campbell Cooper, but later of course. There is a notation referencing CC Cooper in pencil on the back of the board. The painting measures 10" by 12" as framed, and the image is 7" by 9&quo ...click for details
Offered here is a tranquil painting of an Indian summer or early fall landscape, depicting a small boat pulled up on the bank of a small, meandering stream. It appears to be painted on canvas board. The painting is signed SCHULZ. It is in excellent condition and measures 22" by 26" in a 1" wood frame. It probably dates to around 1960.
This is a fine early 20th century oil painting depicting an interior of a stable with three horses: two white and one black standing at manger and chewing hay. The heads of the horses have been beautifully painted, capturing the anatomical details with perfection. The painting is in good condition but with some repair on the head of the black horse, visible only upon close inspection. The giltwood frame is modern and in very good condition. The canvas measures approximately 29" by 19" ...click for details

Offered here is a large, handsome oil on canvas of a bountiful basket of flowers. It is skillfully painted and is signed Arthur Lasslow, and the date appears to be 1910. The only reference to Lasslow I have been able to find is that he may have a collector of fine art in New York. I do not find that he is a listed artist himself. He should have been. This painting is gorgeous, and done in the style of the early Dutch paintings. The painting measures 41" across and 31" high. It i ...click for details
