When I bought this painting I first thought, Oh good, I can clean this right up with my new cleaning stuff! But I looked at it for a little while and decided I quite like it just as it is. It's really a wonderful little painting with very good composition and perspective and, as it is, it has a very atmospheric quality to it. Offered here is a skillful execution of a landscape rendered in oil on canvas and painted with a brush and pallet knife. The painting has great composition and wonderful soft earth and sky colors, and strong confident strokes. The painting is framed in a white washed frame. Offered here is a wonderful modern oil painting of a bulldog after Francis C. Fairman,(1836-1923 British), known for his wonderful portraits of dogs. Solid wood frame in black with gold. Outside frame measures 15 1/2 x 19 1/2, image is 12" by 16". The painting is unsigned. It is in excellent condition.

Here we have an early 19th century painting of a young child, or putti with red curls, piercing brown eyes, very much of the Italian school (although English school is written on the back).
